Transferring MP3 Audio only from an OCR (WYNN)

There are a variety of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software programs that allow for the scanning of materials.  The ClassMate Reader can play files that are in MP3 format.  Newer programs allow for this option. These files may be transferred as audio for the purposes of hearing the text with the capacity to select voices and rates by the software.  The ClassMate allows you to enter text notes, bookmarks, and voice notes with the capacity to alter playback speed.

Choose option A or B and then follow either with C

A. Connecting the ClassMate Reader with the USB cable

  • Connect one end of the USB cable to the ClassMate Reader and the other end to the computer's USB port.
  • Turn the ClassMate Reader on.  Notice the "Connected" message on screen.
  • The ClassMate Reader (removable disk) will be located under My Computer in the directory of your computer.

B. Using SD Card reader

  • Insert the ClassMate's SD card into your computer's SD card reader. It will be recognized by Windows as a removable disk.

C.        Transferring an Audio MP3 File from an OCR program

Open the OCR program

Open the file you wish to transfer

Select File, then Save to Audio

A window will appear allowing you to select the range of pages

NOTE:

The reading voice and speed are the same as you have set to read. So, if you want a different speed/ voice selection, make the necessary changes prior to making the audio files.

When the Save as window appears - select the location on the Removable disk on the ClassMate Reader for either the Otherbooks or Music folder.

Select format (WAV or MP3) and change the file name.

Right-click and create a New Folder. Rename the folder as you wish.

Select SAVE. The computer will create the audio files.  This will take a few minutes. When finished, they will be saved on the SD card if you selected the removable disk as the save location.

If you did not select the removable disk as your location, the audio files will be saved in a special subfolder under Wynn. If your files were saved under the Wynn folder, open the folder and select File, then Copy.  Locate the otherbooks or music folder on the SD card and Paste the files.

Safely remove SD card from the computer.
